Print this planet earth math mat. Children use a die to roll a number, or pull a number from a bag or container. They then place a small object like a foam piece on the appropriate number of images to fill the grid. |
Cut out the game pieces and use them on the grid to play the traditional tic tac toe game! This is a great way to teach strategy and planning to young children |
Use these cards as part of your daily calendar routine. Teach children to read the days by looking at the first letter sound. Also have fun sequencing the days of the week in order! |
Use this spinner to build the word! Print it on cardstock, and laminate. Use a pin to poke through the middle of the circle. Place a paperclip on a brad, and put the brad through the hole. Bend the clips from the brad and flick the spinner! If you land on the letter "e" then put a word tile for that letter on the corresponding space on the game card! If you spin a letter you don't need, you miss a turn! |
Earth Day in the word not in the word game Cut out the cards and laminate! Students then read the phonetic or sight words to sort onto the appropriate mat. Use the large letter tiles to help build the word before sorting. To self check, keep a library pocket on the back of each card with a copy of the correct words on a card (the template has "in" and "not in" words grouped together) |
Earth Day abc strips and alphabet cards Use these alphabet strips as desk plates for your students, or in mini offices. You can also use them as a guide to help students seriate the alphabet cards from a-z. Try using the abc cards for word wall headings also! |
