Play 2 Learn Printables

Summer Fun!

Free printables for summer! Great for preschool, daycare, kindergarten or primary teachers! Think about picnics sun and watermellon!

Use summer foam shapes to play many of these activities.

Picnic math grid

Print this grid to use for a learning activity with your students. Children use a die to roll a number. They then place a small object like a foam piece on the appropriate number of images.

Picnic tic tac toe

Play this as you would the traditional tic tac toe game. This simple activity helps teach children higher order thinking skills!

watermelon days of the week

Teach young children the days of the week using these fun thematic cards!

watermelon in the word not in the word Spelling error fixed!

Cut out the cards and laminate! Students then read the phonetic or sight words to sort onto the appropriate mat. Use the large letter tiles to help build the word before sorting. To self check, keep a library pocket on the back of each card with a copy of the correct words on a card (the template has "in" and "not in" words grouped together)

summer fun sorting mats

I used the foam beads from Oriental Trading Company for this activity. Sort the beads according to the variables on the mat! Teach your children to sort by colour and shape!

watermelon count clothespin game

Cut out the cards around the black line. Children count the number of seeds on each watermellon and pin a clothespin on the correct number. For self checking, place a sticker on the back of the correct number so the student can flip and check!

watermelon number (word) activity

Use black beans or foam pieces as seeds (some spray paint lima beans). Match the correct number of seeds to each watermelon!

watermelon number (digit) activity

Use black beans or foam pieces as seeds (some spray paint lima beans). Match the correct number of seeds to each watermelon!

watermelon sight word concentration game

Print two copies of this activity. Turn the cards upside down and students flip to find matches! These high frequency words help encourage reading fluency!

 sun clothespin counting game

Print these pages, and then cut out the boxes. Count the suns and then put a sticker on the back of the card beneath the correct answer for self checking. Use clothespins to pin on the correct number!

summer fun math worksheet

Use this activity as a worksheet for your students to practice their adding skills. The second page has manipulatives for your students to cut and paste into the appropriate box. One sheet (page 2) should work for four students.
